It's been 5 weeks since my insident and went to my Diabetic doctor last night for a 'check up'.
I've been taken off the Gliclazide and told to check my blood sugar instead of 4 times but twice a day for 2 days then have a day off.
Is this a sign things are getting better or what?
Personally though I’d question the reduced testing frequency logic - make a change in [a very effective hypoglycaemic] medicine and then immediately test less often? Hmmm. Also the language of “have a day off” is dangerous in my opinion. Unless of course your doctor has sent the memo to your diabetes and it’s having the same day off as you. But as it’s not his/her body then I suppose it doesn’t matter too much
Doctors should not tell people when and when not to test. That is your choice.
