I funded my own self testing for years whilst on oral meds. I didn't test every day and pre and post meals all the time either, cost too much. I did use the meter to test new diet strategies and began eating to my meter. Now I take insulin and get free supplies but I do think it is beneficial for the NHS to provide periodic free strips for those on oral meds or diet alone.

im a bit worried over this, as I need more than 5 weeks to know what food and what food doesn't spike my bs...

also im worried incase the don't give me anymore strips , can the do this ????

Sadly it has been deemed necessary to save money, you are 100% on the money in your wish to test, but you'll not get much help from the GP. Yes they can do this because some idiot has shown that there is no benefit. Very frustrating because we know differently.
