Who is amylin suitable for?
In the UK, amylin has not been approved by NICE for use on prescription but in the USA, amylin has been used as an additional medication for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
I'm not sure how to interpret this. It's my understanding that NICE set criteria and guidance for the NHS, so this would imply that the NHS does not offer the drug (which they don't as you've said).
This may also mean that the drug cannot be prescribed privately, but I genuinely don't know. The first and only instance I've heard of this being treatment being used was by the "Think Like A Pancreas" author. I assume this is where you've heard of it also?
