Hi there, I have been diagnosed for 2 years with type 2 diabetes. I think I was in denial for a long time and didn't really take it seriously. I had gestational diabetes a few years ago and my father is diabetic, so what with my poor diet I think it was inevitable. My thing is I don't seem to have this switch in my head that stops me from eating all the wrong foods. I am very overweight (was skinny as a kid until my 30s) and apart from wanting to shed all the lbs, I also know that the tut I'm eating is doing me harm. Does anyone else have this problem? I know some of it is overeating but some of it is also insatiable cravings for sweet stuff.

Having only just discovered this forum it's really interesting to read other people's stories about how they deal with the diabetic stuff.
