I had the annual Foot Check and bloods today. Now going from previous tests I was told to fast from midnight the night before and only take water as fluids.. today was different... I was asked if I was advised by the GP Reception team (at the time of booking my appointment) to have a sugary drink one hour pre-test and a light breakfast? (For the record i hadnt been advised anything so i went off previous exanples) Surely this was wrong or have I been unwittingly piloted on some new eccentric NHS brainchild? Has anyone else come across such baffling directives? If so what was the need?

Sounds like a glucose tolerance test, a confused receptionist me thinks

A very confused one... saying that in my local practice they've had a lot of work experience kids in... scary thought
I could of ended up having an unnecessary liver biopsy or something like that. Was only a week ago I went in to collect my testing strips prescription and walked out with a 45yr old woman's prescription for amitriptyline and morphine patches
this LCHF diet must be doing wonders for my complexion!!
