Hi all.

Just joined the forum......

I am type 2 and have been for about 7 years. I am the worst diabetic ever in terms of control...
I am currently on 4x500mg (?) slow release metformin, 4xGlicazide for diabetes. I am also on Ramipril and Benzoflourazide (sp?) for blood pressure daily.

I am due to start Byetta towards the end of November, I did have a quick neb throught the thread on Byetta and am less worried about it now, though of course time will tell.

Cheers for now

David

If you aren't happy with your control on all that medication and afraid of using Byetta, there is another strategy possible.
What are you eating?
that's where the bulk of the blood glucose comes from.( a little is made in your liver.)
Glucose is the product of digestion of sugars and starches. If you reduce the amount of these foods that you eat, your BG WILL come down.
You can do this in a number of ways
1. Portion control
2. better choices. [select foods by their carb content]
3. using GI and GL to inform your choices.
There is a lot about all these on this forum
If you'd like to:
give us a breakdown of what you eat in a typical day and we can comment and suggest ways which will help, so that you can chose what will suit you
