Hi iv been on insulin for 14 months now and still struggle to accept it i can not inject my hubby does it and daughter feel so useless also could anyone tell me where i can get some info as i had a car crash and was put onto insulin after the crash as blood sugars crept up over a period of 7 days i had been on metformin for years with no problems and i believe a shock can contribute to having to go on insulin

I don't know about the shock thing, but it does sounds familiar! As to the not being able to do your own injections...I completely sympathise with you. I was diagnosed aged 4...and my Mum basically bribed me into doing my injections by telling me I couldn't go to birthday parties until I could do my own injections. I think I was about 5 or 6. It is like anything else though...as a child, it is easier than when we are grown up. I still hate it, and rather unhygienically, still do my injections through my clothes....as I don't like the needles going into flesh thing! I am certainly, in no way sayingthat this is a way to go..there are many reasons why it is foolish, but wanted to share this, to letyou know that you are not alone!
