I started alogliptin and insulin (Humulin l 12 units a day) 2 weeks ago. I was also on gliclizide (past 6 months).
My numbers were always double teens no matter how hard I tried to control with diet and exercise.
I stopped taking the gliclazide 2 days ago. As of Sunday I haven't been higher than 8.6 mmol.
I've been tested for lada and told I'm definitely type two.
I'm wondering if the gliclazide wasn't working or whether the insulin was needed all along as I feel a lot better.
I'm eating between 80/100g carbs a day. That's been the average for around 9 months.
