Hi , I have been bleeding continue sly since Aug( have had a 3 day break ) 1st went to docs after 8weeks( got the courage) told he couldn't help me I'd have to see Dr that deals with that type of thing :/ another 2 week wait seen doc sent for scan suspected fibroids scan clear( sort of)said I had shadows but not concerned ,went to docs for results a week later to be told 'I was in a grey area 1 of 2 things...my diabetes or cancer! Said I had a thickening of the lining of my womb my hb1c is 7.9 not great but not drastic, recently been put on insulin pump I queried with the nurse ( as was calling everyday to see how I was getting in with the pump) and she'd never heard of it being related to diabetes! I called dr went mad told because of my age I'm not in the 'bracket ' for cancer have to wait another 3 month for another scan :/ I'm on the mini pill ( no break) T1 for 36 year no complications any one else had this problem or anyone else got any ideas? Today got appointment for 2nd scan on 7 th jan v confused as doc adamant wouldn't book me in until shed seen me after the 3 month!, thinking because I went mad she's now going ahead really don't know what to think I'm 37 x

Hi sorry to hear about your situation.To me it seems like you need to see a Gynaecologist also are you up to date with your smears.
I had lots of test done as I was also bleeding not sure how heavy the bleed is but start taking some more iron tablets if you can as I had to have a blood transfusion not saying this will happen to you just so you don't become anaemic.
They can give you an ablation to get rid of the lining of the womb.
Now I am not a doctor but all your one has done is put the frighteners on you not surprised you are sick with worry.
On a positive note you are being seen quickly which is a good thing it most probably is because you went mad and rightly so as you just want to get it sorted.Try to stay calm and whatever the outcome it will be sorted out for you.

Hi snowy , thank you for your post. Yes upto date with smears etc I'm pretty calm now the initial shock from doc has been placed to the back if my mind! Feeling very drained tired and obviously a bit emotional
Starting to see a bit of a pattern now 12 day bleed 3 day break just wish it was the other way around! Flow has been so so last one was quite heavy with clotts. ( sorry for graphic detail anyone reading! ) I'm plodding on hoping one day to get the answers will keep informed if or when I have any news x
 
Hi Niecie it really sounds like women's problems.You can get a tablet from most chemists that will slow down the bleeding,if not than I would definitely say to your doctor you want something to stop it,I would definitely take extra iron to watch your iron levels not sure how big your clots are,I am just going from my own experience with this.
Glad you have put it to the back of your mind,it is hard as you just want to know what is going on

I had a similar pattern of bleeding during my teenage years. They diagnosed progesterone deficiency and gave me hormone treatment.
At which my periods stopped for 20+ years.
Then I saw an enlightened female doc, who set in process a number of tests which finally got the problem sorted (it was not, and had never been) progesterone deficiency!

I'm not suggesting you have the same issues as me.
But I do suggest that you keep pushing until you get an explanation.
Living with bleeding like that goes WAY BEYOND inconvenience, and needs investigation.

I've always found male doctors totally disinterested, and female docs much more humane, on this subject.
 

Aaawww, so sorry to hear of your mediacl problems, a scary time for you and obviuosly wanting some answers.
I just hope you can get the proper care and treatment ( if called for) as it can be the unknown that's the scariest part and the mind goes into overtime.
Hoping you will feel a little better soon, with some hopefully better news.

Thank you both, appreciate your posts, still no change due for 2 nd scan on 7 th Jan hopefully will be a little more enlightened by the end if Jan will keep posted x
 
Blimey, they really are looking after you...not. What a shambles. I was like that at one point, with terrible pain, they never did get to the bottom of it. In the end I had a hysterectomy, best thing ever.
Good luck and hope they can tell you what is going on. To be honest I'm not sure they even know the reason only that it happens.
 
Hi all had 2ns scan today , no change as such but happy I had a good sonogropher she was vry iwnformative. She asked lots of questions I tod hr what had been going on and told hr what the doc had said she too hadnt heard of anything like this being related to diabetes! She said she couldnt see anything untoward , said yes womb was enlarged but not overally explained normal person not having diabetes and having a ' normal menstrual cycle would be anything upto 15" because im on the pill they would exoect it to b slightly smaller but mine is 9" which is biggr than the norm but nothing of concrn to her, also on a brighter note I have also slowed right down so hoping its the end seeing doc on 14th sonographer said they may still request a biopsy but that would be upto the Dr , I ve put the worry to the back of my mind but feel a lot better I had someone who was willing to talk me through everything , I thanked her for being so informartive and she said she thought it was important for the patient I said its a shame not all see it that way Ive been out of my mind with worry since conversation with doc in Oct x
 
What a huge difference some information can make eh
It is the not knowing of anything that makes us all worry 'more' .

Today you got lucky by her explaining facts and getting proper
answers to your questions .
Which have made such a reassuring difference to you .

Am so pleased you aren't as stressed or worrying as much now .
Try to relax and focus on enjoying things again less stressed/worried .
Take some 'you' time out and pamper yourself maybe ?
A manicure or a pedicure or beauty treatment perhaps ?
You deserve it

Hi all, just an update problem still ongoing after 2 scans getting the all clear bk at docs a week gone Tue to see what was the next step, Dr said was going to refer me to a specialist whilst sitting I asked if it couod have anything to do with iron as i used to be on it as ongoing until May 2013 when Dr said it shouldnt be a continuous thing, felt awful for a good while when stopped but just got on with it , she checked resuts to see when was last checked hadnt been done for ovr a year so decided to do iron and thyroid , went on fri had bloods done call from Drs today my T4 is higg and mg iro is low ( middle range) she now seems to think its my thyroid as that apparently has a lot to do with menstrual cycle! Both happy sad and annoyed as this has been going on since last August and all it possibly could have taken was a blood test! Fingers crossed for some normality! Im hoping high ☺
 
Hi all woo hoo finally sorted! Asked to have my bloods checked a few weeks ago at the docs ( thought they were being done at hosp but obviously not :/ ) any way I have low iron and high thyroid! ( had thyroid 20+years) within 24 hrs of going on the iron and reducing my meds the bleeding gas stopped and I feel almost human! Been just over 2 weeks now but all that worry and scare over Cancer/ diabetes etc was totally uncalled for! Next time 1st port of call will be asking to check my bloods happy I'm sorted but sad / angry I had to do it myself something so simple I could have been sorted months ago xx
