There a pile of **** but if u learn to sleep like stiff they go the distance. So I have been using Libre 2 for a while now and haven't had 1 sensor last 15 days. They have lasted between 8 hours and 11 days at best. I have found them very unreliable. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know why these sensors are so unreliable?
I just noticed your reply on A1c Libre estimates vs lab results. On the contrary, my lab results have been about 10-15% higher. My current Libre estimate is 36 mmol/mol, so even 15% higher would be a great result for me.I’ve found with all the FSL from 1 to 2+ my estimated A1c is 15% higher than what comes back from the lab..
Same with the diabetesconnect app I use to log my meter?
@Dan161282 I would be interested to hear how you get on with the Libre 3. Abbott informed me it is now available in Canada.12 hours left and the sensor (libre 3 normal version)not far out either. Next I’m going to finally test the libre 3 plus and see how that goes
I find it better than libre 2/plus. Smaller, more comfortable, you can get a lot of incorrect lows if you lay on side but overall I find it not to be far out compared to the 2@Dan161282 I would be interested to hear how you get on with the Libre 3. Abbott informed me it is now available in Canada.
Yes I use Shuggah. The readings are usually around 1mmol out but you can calibrate it. And I can add it to the complications on my apple watchWeirdly there are 3rd party apps for the Libre that can send to smart watches..
But I’ve never had the need to use the calibration feature. normally & approximately within 0.6Mmol for me with a meter. Give or take any interstitial fluid lag?
I can live with that..
These 2 plus sensors have nothing but issues and I’m struggling even with the 3 plus. After having to switch because of many failures. If I was you and it’s up to you but I would try dexcom if you can until they solve these problemsI got two librelink 2plus sensors, one of them only worked for 5 days and the second one only for 10 days, the number it showed was always completely wrong. For example, when my blood sugar was around 300 mgr/dL, the sensor showed a number of around 130, and when it was at 120, the sensor showed a number of around 60.!!!
I've moved to the Dexcom one+ after many problems (calibration, drop-outs) with the libre (more info in one of the sig links below.)Dexcom one+ worked really well for me but that’s only out in the uk I think but it was the best sensor I have used and it last only 10 days but it was only 0.2 out at most and what I liked about it was when it was reading higher than bloods you can fix it by calibrate and enter bloods in settings and the sensor would read the same as bloods
Glad you enjoying it as the dexcom shows more information. Let me know how it goes on the other sensor when it runs out and also if you don’t know. When it’s about to run out it gives you another 12 hours to change itI've moved to the Dexcom one+ after many problems (calibration, drop-outs) with the libre (more info in one of the sig links below.)
It certainly appears to be decently accurate (I'm now ~7 days in and it's still working fine without calibration, while the libre2+ would diverge after about 2 days), there are some drop-outs I've noticed, though I think this is probably more to do with my phone/phone settings than the device itself failing (synchronising timings of the phone listening when the device broadcasts - I will do more digging though.) The drop-outs only seem to be say 15min (or at least those are the ones I notice as I'm awake and wondering why my watch is telling me it's not updated for a while. Nevertheless this is quite unlike the many 6h+ drop-outs I had with the libre.) The Dexcom One+ also backfills the history in XDrip+ when it reconnects (which the libre never did - though not the libre's fault per-se, more to do with Juglucco/XDrip+ combo) so I'm happy.
It is still early days though so I'll reserve final judgement, but I'm pleased to have moved, even if I now only have 5min updates and not the 1min provided by the libre2/2+.
Thankyou for the heads upZukka in the App Store is the same app as Shuggah and is free to use. It works with the 2+
