I just want to know if anyone has applied for a pump with either Kings College or Chelsea and Westminster?
I am usually registered with Chelsea but my specialist has referred me to Kings as my diabetes is not very easy to control. Both clinics have suggested I go on a pump because I have a really bad Dawn Phenomenon and because I am very active in sport and gym.
I spoke to Chelsea but they seem to drag their feet and I have spoken to Kings about this but there seems to be a hold up and at both clinics, appointments seem to be far and few.
I hear that some hospitals just have an account and can order a pump without going through a PCT (Barts). Does anyone know if this is the case with Kings?
I have already been told that Chelsea hace to go through your PCT and I am based in Wandsworth PCT. Wandsworth do not really like paying for the patch pump as its a little more expensive than other pumps available.
Any advice will be appreciated.
