yes but often when u eat the choc it doesnt have the same effect as real choc - i dont encourage its use because it is as calorific as real choc but has the laxative effect! And tastes foul!

Polyols are carbohydrates, and as such they are broken down into glucose - like any other carbohydrate. This paper claims that they are much lower GI than sucrose or glucose, and that they might be "potentially helpful in diabetes".
in reality I do not think that they have much effect and that maybe because u do not absorb it - alot of people have problems with them!!!!
I wouldnt use them because i think they make food taste wierd - it is a sensation I find difficult to describe! And the cost foods with them are usually quite expensive!
