Anyone using Dexcom?

Hi I'm on the dexcom,
It cost £500 for the transmitter and 4 sets, the receiver is my pump. If I remember correctly the receiver, transmitter and 4 sets was around £1300. 4 Sets cost £186, they last a week according to the manufacturers, however I'll have completed my 3rd week on my 1st one on Wednesday and it's still very comfortable and accurate, although the sticky has given up the game. Quite a few other people keep them in longer, because of the expense, and don't seem to have any problems apart from the sticky stuff.

aminas vibe and like pimppump we both use the vibe pump and dexcom together meaning we only have to buy transmitters and sensors. However Be VERY careful with your transmitter - they grow bloody legs and walk off as mine has done after 2 months of having it (500 down the drain)

They say the best way to find something that youve lost is to give up looking for it and weirdly that works. Try and think what you were doing before you realised the transmitter was off.......

Thanks Ihs - wish it was that simple. i have a 4 day window where it could have gone. I also dont know if it left the house - (i believed I had put it in blood meter case in zipped compartment. Its not there and zip is done up). thanks again though

Try looking to see if its come off in yr clothes, in bed, bathroom, make up box, pump stuff box, linen bin, fridge even

I am using the Dexcom G4 too. I reached 19 days with the first sensor and the current sensor is staying accurate at day 17. It has shown me things I didn't know were happening like the tiny drop in BS when I eat etc.

The first sensor started to come unstuck after 6 days so I had to rescue the situation by spraying Tensospray on my skin and Hypafix over the patch to get things secure again. Some people use SkinTac but I find it causes a reaction on my skin. I spent a few weeks teasting out tapes and skin adhesives before committing to the expense of a CGM.

For everything that I have discovered so far I think it is well worth the investment.

Sad times, poor you! I think my sensor has just about had it now will take it out tonight good prompt for me to stow it safely!

what signs are you getting of 'the end'? ive had one tell me outright it had failed (at 14 days) and one go constant ??? (at 17)

the only reason i didnt have it on me was I took it off for my birthday weekend. So annoyed with myself.
