App

Is there a good or recommended app to use to keep a monitor on food, BG levels, exercise etc?

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app
I have been using the Accu- Chek Performa Nano. You can also get an excellent software package with it that allows you to monitor your glucose levels. It uploads to the PC with a small usb device. Excellent graphics and record keeping for carbs as well. It is called Accu Chek 360 Diabetes management System (version 2). Just google accu-ckeck Performa Nano for further info. Made by Roche and worth the money.

Good luck and all the best

OOPS forgot. If you have an iPhone check out www.calorieking,com for an app that tracks your daily consuption and diet, This mob has been around in Australia for 25+ years - moved to the US in a big way.
Alan Borushek was the prime mover behind calorie/carb/fat/fibre watching.
Seems like a really good app - I think it was developed with the Joslin Diabetic Centre (the worlds largest research/treatment facility for diabetics)

Hi @dazzeur welcome to the forum. I'm similar to you (I think) having read your intro ie not obese, exercised etc etc - but 5 months after diagnosis I'm almost feeling like an old hand so it does get better ...

I use MySugr for recording my BG - it's a good little app, gives you averages etc. For food look at My Fitness Pal - an awesome app for keeping track of what you eat. Many of the foods you buy are listed and you can scan the barcodes rather than search. It will show you nutritional breakdown, for me it was a great way to keep within my set boundaries.

Under Armour (they run my fitness pal) also have a number of apps for exercise logging - personally I swim so I use Speedo Fit.

And once you've done all that you won't have time to eat anything that is supposedly bad for us Best of luck.
