I have seen quite a few posts and read a few articles on the benefits of apple cider vinegar and BG control. So I bought some and on Thursday night I started to take a couple of teaspoons full with some water before bed. By Friday night I had ordered some apple cider vinegar tablets off of Amazon!

As well as supporting the benefits, I wanted to pay tribute to everyone who is taking this regularly because it has to be the worse thing I have ever tasted in my life! I am persevering but cannot wait for those tablets to arrive!

It does seem to me that this is a pretty well endorsed BG supplement together with cinnamon both of which come up in nearly every article I read.

Which one do you have and are you diluting it? Allegedly all ACV is not created equal!

Oh interesting - how do you know that you have the right one then bullbiker?

I have two actually - I have a pure organic one with bits in it from Holland and Barrett for my evening ritual, like a very dilute olive oil and yes I dilute it with half a glass of water. Then I have some from Sainsbury's for cooking.

In all the articles I have read - none have mentioned that there are different versions and some not suitable so would welcome the data to help us all make the right choices. Because sure as heck I do not want to be drinking that foul brew if it is the wrong one

Apparently (and I'm no expert) the one with major benefits contains "the mother" which is best described as scum at the bottom of the bottle. I use this one

I have 1 tablespoon in a very large glass of sparkling water along with my magnesium citrate supplement just before bed.
You can only just taste the ACV in with the half pint of sparkling water. Then I gargle and go clean my teeth as it is quite bad for enamel (again from what I have read).
I did think it had a bot of an effect on my FBG which seemed bit lower after starting it. This has gone up recently but I do have a snotty cold and have been sleeping very badly with coughs and snuffles so am currently blaming that!.

Ah ok. I was watching a video recently with a DR talking about the benefits and he just had a standard bottle in his hands much like you get at Sainsbury's and other places, but I am taking the one with dregs at the bottom. My tablets should be even better though because they are quite a high amount evaporated.

Would be worth hearing anyone else experience. In these things it is always good to get some facts from articles and studies so those hard earned pounds are spent in the best way.

Just check on the label that it contains "the mother" .. There was a "Trust Me I'm a Doctor" mention of it having blood glucose lowering powers a couple of series ago no idea which one I'm afraid although it was before the quality of reporting became abysmal in the following series...

Rinsing your mouth with water afterwards is good as it dilutes the acid. Brushing teeth is bad as the enamel is softened by the acid and can be 'brushed away'. It is best not to brush your teeth within an hour or so of having an acidic drink.

I don't use it as a supplement, but I consume at least three tbsp of the 'RAW' brand of apple cider vinegar (available from Ocado) as an ingredient in my daily lunchtime salad. I love strong and sour flavours (for instance I make my own very sour sauerkraut using just cabbage and salt and half a week of time - oh boy it's tangy) and I can't stand oily dressing, so my salad is swamped in plenty of apple cider vinegar for tang and taste, together with other ingredients such as nutritional yeast flakes, salt, pepper and ginger. Yummy!

Much as I love its sourness I think I might struggle to consume it on its own or just in water. But as a dressing? Fabulous!
