The "hunter" gene was defined by a doctor on Public Broadcasting System in the U.S. He said such people did not lose weight on his weight lose diet (low carb). He said he found that such people had a glucose tolerance test which rose (slowed its rise) for the 2 hours of the test. Such people have been diagnosed as prediabetic. I have figured out what is probably (very high probability) what is happening and why we do not lose weight. It has lead me to the conclusion that our H1A1c would be highly correlated with the amount of sugar/starch/alchol we have eaten. This is also diagnosed as prediabetic. Are there any people who have prediabetes but can lose weight on the standared low carb diet? Are there any people whose glucose tolerance test is not rising for the standard 2 hours of the glucose tolerance test but are diagnosed as prediabetic? I am sure no one will answer my poll but I am trying to find out what fraction of the people diagnosed as prediabetic are simply people with the "hunter" gene. By the way as far as I can determine, if you do not come from populations where you always ate a low carb diet, then there is no obvious correlation with having the "hunter" gene and becoming diabetic. There is a very high correlation with having the "hunter" gene and becoming fat.
