For those who don't know already, "Balance" is the house magazine of Diabetes UK Like many people I have issues with DUK's dietary advice. The current issue has an article about a book "Carbs and Cals". It's about portion sizes.
Essentially there are over 200 pagess in this book [I bought a copy in North Wales last summer.] Most of the pages show 4 - 6 plates of food and list the carbs and cals for the portions. The sizes of the plates and bowls are given.
I should think newbies in particular would find it useful.
I don't agree with all the text, but seeing portions on a plate of know size is very telling
