I know there are wonderful people on this forum who can point me to scientific research about insulin resistance.
Thank you!!

To be honest if you Google 'Insulin resistance and diabetes' (for example), masses of things come up.
Do you have a particular worry or query?
Thank you.
It came up in conversation and I realized how little I actually knew.
I was wanting to do a bit of research.
I will try Mr google.

Dr. Fung has two great analogies for this and Ivor Cummins covers it, too. Both can be found as full lectures or abridged versions on youtube. Hope this helps.

It sure does thank you.
A person can spend hours on the web looking for information.

Here is Jason Fung's thirty minutes on IR. This is my favourite one and includes his 'Train' analogy.

One thing that happens to me is I lose weight on insulin treatment if I use liver blocks too. Keeping my bgs perfect.
Dr Fung believes insulin units aren't the right treatment for type2s. I disagree if that person used controlled insulin injections to gain control then reduces the insulin units to lose weight.

I think the liver has always been the cause of type2 diabetes. Which is refreshing to see Dr Fung seeing that.
That is why metformin works so well. It works on the liver.
Block the liver intake and output and you see hba1c a lot lower!

I know that for me when I combined Metformin with low carb and moderate fat it helped me.
I still have ideally 40-50 pounds I still want to lose but the 50 I've lost so far have made it easier to envision that happening.

Me too.
Keep at it, we'll get there!
