Went to a local pub / eatery Friday for a meal. I visit once / twice a week for a glass of red or two.
Just about everything on the menu is carb-laden (cooked in or accompanied by batter, breadcrumbs, french fries, rice, mash etc. etc.)
So I asked for a knuckle of lamb on a bed of green veg (instead of a bed of garlic mash) - with gravy / mint sauce - delicious.
Strawberries and double cream for desert.
There is hope!
Food choices are just like that here... And occasionally you hit the jackpot. You should of got a lottery ticket too.
I went out for a meal on Saturday, impromptu visit, the one that has the unlimited salad cart so already onto a winner, stayed away from the potato salad and pasta options, I then ordered a steak with blue cheese and cream sauce, was a good girl and asked for steamed veg in place of the chips and even had a glass of wine. BG readings before meal were 5.2, 2 hrs. after 5.5 and out of curiosity in case the 5.5 was a blip 3 hrs. after they were 5.8. Tested first thing Sunday morning 5.7Went to a local pub / eatery Friday for a meal. I visit once / twice a week for a glass of red or two.

I usually have eggs, mushrooms, maybe a vegan sausage (Linda McCartney are ok) and half an avocado if I’m having breakfast out. I managed that fine at a veggie place when I was away a couple of weeks ago, some are less accommodating! My local cafe does a low carb breakfast sausage egg bacon (tomato) mushrooms well lowish anyway if you don't have the toast , fried bread or hash browns.
Of course I am not a vegetarion or vegan.
