Type 2 At what point does Insulin become necessary?

Never thought that far ahead to be honest, Thought that they may be reserved for Type 1's, there need is greater. I'm expecting a phone call on Thursday to check how I'm doing so ill mention that then, no harm in asking.

I was told I could take Lantis in the Evenings or mornings, so long as I stuck to that time each day. Can anyone on Lantis tell me if it makes any difference when I take it?
