availability of international foods

Well-Known Member
hello!

I miss many greek products that I cannot find in my local tesco megastore, can you advise me please?

I want parizaki, graviera cheese, olives in salt and vinegar etc

All the british cheeses are horribly sweet and not salty at all.
Same with deli meats, there is no mortadella, no pariza, no beer salami.
British sausages are horrible, they have zero salt and spices and are tasteless, in contract to greek village sausage.

Any idea?

thanks!

Hi,

I'm sorry you find English bangers disappointing.

You must be missing the traditional Greek sausage..? Though I notice you also like the Italian meats too...

I'm a stuffed vine leaf man myself.
But each to their own.....

Larger Tesco stores have a wider range on international foods than many smaller stores. Is there a larger store near you or are you already using a super store.

You could also try Googling for Greek food near you. Many nationalities, with emigre populations have shops/delis supporting their culture and diet.

I like boring sausages, especially boring chipolatas, but I know people who hunt down good British sausages and drive distances to buy them as a hobby and as a belief in good British food. As @Brunneria says, google them.
There are lovely olives in many local shops/delis. I admit, though, that I haven't heard of some of the items on your 'wanted' list, so I guess we need to get our act together!
