Hello everybody, greeting from Dublin Ireland

I have been a type 1 diabetic since 1986. My blood sugar reading were always ok (except of course when you are ill). Over the past months i have been plagued by chest infections and a persistent pleurisy. Several antibiotic were given but none worked. 2 weeks ago they sent me home with a 10 day course of Avelox (moxifloxacin) which is a last resort antibiotic and has as side effect it makes you blood sugar fluctuate. I had to stop the course after 5 days as my sugars went up gigantic. And after 10 days it still no under control. I looked on the internet and it looks its an antibiotic not suitable for diabetics. Has anyone experience with this antibiotic and the road back after to good readings and how long it took to get it back under control?
