Average blood sugar results

I recently received my four monthly average blood sugar results from the health centre receptionist, as my appointment for review had been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. My next appointment has been set for end of November. Therefore I am totally puzzled by the figure I have been given. Instead of the usual mmol it is a two digit number. Can anyone explain what 67 translates as? I was told it was higher than normal as I usually have between 7 and 8.6 mmol but I have been suffering from a cold for few weeks. Any help in conversion would be most appreciated!

8.3 in old money.

edit, same post as Snodger

Well thank you both for such a quick response to my query! As I was so worried about the result before I received your reassuring replies I got an emergency appointment with a GP in our practice. We only have one diabetes specialist GP in our health centre and she wasn't available. Tis GP didn't explain how to convert it to old money, he just said it was "high" but he had seen higher! He just said this is the way it is translated now and at my next review to take my blood test meter along to compare. A statement I found to be rather unsatisfactory to be honest and it also proved to me that most GPs I have dealt with over 40 years of being a Type 1 diabetic, they have absolutely no idea or empathy as to how it is to have Type 1 diabetes and how hard the majority of diabetics struggle daily to get the perfect "balance" in their lives. Personally, as a wife, mother of three children and balancing an incredibly busy life, I don't think an average of (now translated into 8.3 in old money) is a bad average. Yes it could be better, but GPs don't seem to understand we don't just live a sedentary life, injecting the correct dosages, blood testing endlessly and recording details plus following a perfect diet, it is much more complicated than that! And we also live in the real and busy world where things don't always go to a set plan! Ha! Sorry, my first rant on this forum over! Thank you both again for the reassuring info and insight!
