Awaiting docs appointment help!

Hello,

I am new here! Just looking for anybody with similar circumstances...

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes last year diet controlled all the way through my pregnancy - had my little girl in November 23.

Gp tested me in January 24 and apparently my levels were good.

Here's what they were: (non fasted tests)

39mmol - A1c
5.2 glucose

Skip 6 nearly 7months on and I'm having symptoms such as exhaustion, frequent urination and constantly thirsty! Some others such as ankles swelling occasionally etc (not sure that's related)

But what I'm asking is has anyone experienced similar and then gone on to be diagnosed?

I have a docs appointment next week to discuss but have been taking my morning fasting readings just out of curiosity...

They have been:
5.9, 5.3, 6.2, 6.9, 5.6, 5.8, 5.5

No one on the forum can diagnose or give medical advice, it’s good you have an appointment with your GP. From my experience those fasting numbers aren’t too bad, your symptoms could be down to anything or nothing at all - after all you have a toddler who is probably very active!

Once you’ve been to your appointment and if it results in a diagnosis then there’s plenty you can do to keep your BG in control, come back and ask any questions you like our members are always happy to share their knowledge & experiences

Hey, thank you for your reply! Oh I totally understand and appreciate that no one can give medical advice etc..

I just wondered if anybody had experience of GD and then gone on to be either pre diabetic or T2.

I probably wouldn't be questioning my symptoms if I hadn't had GD and needed testing every year.
