Hello,

My baby nephew (3 months old) was recently taken ill with a cold and an ambulance was called when he became 'floppy'. Luckily he is now perfectly fine but my sister mentioned that the paramedics tested his blood sugar and that it was 10. I wouldn't know if this was normal for an ill baby... but I would dread to think he has T1 like me No one else in my family has it so I'm hoping I'm just a fluke!

Jessie.

During illness especially a 'normal' kids BS can rise.

After a random reading, up to 11 is considered 'normal'. Yes 10 is a little high, but not surprising during illness.
My sugar always rises during a cold.

Sounds like he'll be fine.
