Hi. Would you mind me asking if you were checking your blood sugar regularly during that year? If so, did it look stable? Thanks brunneria. I am pleased to be back. First time round is a bit of whirlwind and learning curve. Second time round I now know I can't eat all the things I could and realise my hba1c results were good because I wasn't eating sugar.
Hi. Would you mind me asking if you were checking your blood sugar regularly during that year? If so, did it look stable?
About to have a four-month Hba1c check and a little concerned about 'carb creep' myself! My BS looks OK when I check it.
Thanks.
Had my blood test on Thursday, so will get the result early next week.sorry Lynn I did my usual "post on the forum then forget to post again". You must have had your hba1c by now, how did it go? if your BS is OK I am sure your hba1c will be fine.
my last hba1c was a real wake up call. I thought I was doing OK and as my previous hba1cs had been good and I was prediabetic a bit of sugar would be OK. I wasn't testing as I though I knew what I could eat but that obviously crept up and was too much. I wasn't testing at home either
So I have stopped all sugar, even just a little, and have started testing new foods. I tested Lidl protein rolls and happily my BS was OK. I am wondering though if my resistance is not as good as it was and I think I should retest a few foods especially my daily youghurt/cream/nuts/berries.
Have you got your results yet Lynn?
HbA1c result just in - 38 mmol. Quite happy with that. Has crept up by 1 point, but was expecting worse.
Are you a Jethro Tull fan by any chance? I was Ian Anderson's PA for six years.
Yes, I have always tested regularly.Hey, the good news is that you're still PRE Diabetic so don't despair.
I was diagnosed as pre in Dec 2014 and had progressed within a year to T2 but only just. I was "good" initially and then kind of thought I didn't need to worry and pushed it aside. It's easy to get complacent depending on your results and "relax" a little. It's also hard when others around you that aren't diabetic are eating what they want! I've been complacent myself over the last 3rd of the year so my annual Hba1c increased to 49.
Do you have a blood monitor? I have the Codefree which is one of the cheapest on the market for test strips and lancets. You could try testing yourself from time to time to motivate you to keep your blood sugar in check?
