Background retinopathy

I've just received a letter telling me that I have 'background retinopathy'. I must say it has left me in shock, even though the letter says there shouldn't be any change to my sight.
 
Hi @dabbit. Many of us do. It's one of the consequences of T1D that is very hard to avoid. I've had background retinopathy on and off for about 10 years and it hasn't progressed, so it is something that is perfectly normal to live with.

No there won't be any change in your vision unless the retinopathy progresses.
