That's very interesting. I'd heard of William Banting though I thought he recommended just red meat and lots of port! Looking quickly at the dietrevolution has spurred me to get back into harness after slipping from the straight and narrow over the holiday. Not sure that fasting days would be good for diabetics though.

I have tablets that have to be taken with food ..so would not try fasting as I don't want to stop taking any of my heart failure tablets ...
Regarding willpower, I found it surprisingly easy to fast now that I'm in ketosis, due to following LCHF. I have felt a real difference compared to my few months on 5:2/4:3 some years ago (before T2D) when I was not low carbing. At the time I thought that LC and IF together would be too much... It's quite the opposite, actually!Ok so I may give fasting a go and just have coffeencream/tea/water for a day and see how I feel. Fortunately don't have any medications to take nor any other reasons to think that I wouldn't be able to go a day without food (other than lack of willpower!). Better warn the kids at school in case it makes me really crabby (though they may not notice any difference).
