Bathroom visits at night?

How many times does anyone get up to go to loo at night I can get up two to three times a night!! I'm taking metformin tablets and am type 2 just diagnosed in January or is it something I have to put up with please can anyone tell me if there like it?
 
Seems to be I tried not drinking anything after 7 PM but it made no difference
 
I can get up between two and four times a night. It's gotten slightly better since I cut down on amount of coffee I drink. Plus changing fizzy drinks and juice for water.
 
Try not eating tomatoes , sounds crazy I know but it might help .
