Hi all, I've just found some information on US websites about a supplement called Berberine. On my brief reading of it it seems as though this supplement is a natural alternative to metformin and has other spin off effects like lowering bad cholesterol and aiding weight gain. I'm always a bit sceptical about this sort of thing but wondered if anyone on here has even heard of it or tried it. :crazy: :wave:
 
I'm in the us and after being unable to tolerate metformin's stomach upsets, I gave up and used diet only.

I feel GREAT. Highs and lows are very mild and easily remedied with a handful of nuts. My.energy is much improved. I'm takimg the recommended o of Dr Witakers berberine whic

is 500mg 3x/day.

My only problem is that I need to loose weight and I think the metformin helped with that. For some rason the berberine doesn't seem to contribute to eeight loss in any way
