Hello all beautiful people out there. I'm new to this forum and this my first post. I've been diabetic since 4.5 years and been on oral medication since then. I take medicine only before dinner (diamicron 60 mg and metfo 500 mg).
I'm a moderately active person. I work full time (8am-5pm) and 4-5 days a week I do some kind of exercise in the evening- either brisk walk or yoga.
Want to know your views and experience about exercise. What's the best exercise you have found to control BS? pace and duration? Do you check your BS before exercising? What do you normally eat after exercising?
From various interviews I've heard with exercise specialists, the best exercise for reducing insulin resistance (the main issue for Type 2's) is HIIT (high intensity interval training) and resistance training (increasing lean muscle mass to help mop up excess glucose in the blood).

As an extra form of exercise, you might want to see if there's a parkrun near you - free 5km runs every Saturday morning, 9am in England & Wales, 9.30am in Scotland & Northern Ireland. See http://www.parkrun.org.uk/events/events/ You don't have to run all 5km - many people start by alternating running / jogging / walking.
Ok, I did a 20 min HIIT training last evening (beginners level). I was sweating like hell and my heart was pumping so hard. it took me almost 10 mins to cool down. Should I continue this? is it better to do it everyday or alternate days?
