Ooo Okay then I will have a look about then!Hi
I find its best to read and compare the labels. Many yoghurts have LOTS of sugar in them, especially the low fat ones!
It will depend on where you shop but I generally buy fromage frais (tesco own brand is 3.3g carb per 100g). Then I add fresh berries and cinnamon, or use it to make' chocolate mousse' - yum!
Must be plainHello
I am starting the LCHF diet and I am not too sure what the best yoghurts are to have???
Can anyone help please??
Thank youx
Won't the strawberries/raspberries bring your sugars up???I alternate between Fage Total Natural Greek full fat (3.8 carbs per 100g) and Alpro Simply Plain Soya yogurt (2 carbs per 100g) both with some fresh or frozen raspberries or strawberries thrown in. I love both of them.

Ah I understand why his DN said to eat them as a main meal because they will go in with the carbs so it will be slow releasing! I don't think that works with me anymore as I am on the pump now but I am not sure! It will just have to be trial and errors and having to come up with cheap Low Carb dinners too! :S xIt's a case of testing before you eat them and after to see what effect they have on you. Berries and stewed rhubarb have the lowest carbs I think so a small amount of them plus some cream or yogurt seems to be ok for most of the people I've read on here. Hopefully the same will be true for you. Are you testing?
Also my grandad's DN said to eat them as part of a main meal not hours later as a snack as this is better for your BS- whether that is true , I don't know.
Oh! I never knew that really!Yes, if you eat a whole punnet! The trick is to portion control. 65g of raspberries are 3 carbs. 40g of strawberries are 3 carbs. Mixed with the fat from the yogurt the spike should be minimal, but not everyone reacts the same to every food. You need to try and test.

Patrick Holford - Say no to Diabetes - states you can eat the whole punnet without spiking. Obviously you need to test.
Or me LOL Fruit doesn't like me no matter what it is! Ha!He obviously didn't include me in his experiments then!
