Hi

I am type 2, dont test very often, but did this morning as I was aware of feeling thirsty. When I do test every few weeks, my fasting level is normally around 6.2, but this morning it was 7.4

Now I know lots of people would love it to be 7.4 but should I be concerned ? I am not on any medication, I have had a pretty nasty abscess which required flucloxacillin (not my regular doctor, they didnt even mention changes to BG as a possibility) Also quite stressful just now as other half has a major flare up in his fibromyalgia so its like living with a bear with a very very sore tooth, plus a cousin who asked for our help, has now flung it back in our faces, blaming us for costing her money when we were unable to travel to her house (car clutch went and pushing it 50 miles wasnt really on the cards !).
I'm still feeling a bit off, thinking it will be the infection/antibiotic combination, but could it be the increase in BG, in which case, what should I be doing.

I should add, that I have had this type of infection periodically for over 35 years but only diabetic for last 3 (tested great a few months before)

Any advice welcome as this is the first time I have had this infection since becoming diabetic

Infections and stress will raise your blood sugars so you have a double whammy.
The stress is more difficult to solve but once you have finished the antibiotics and the infection has subsided you should see an improvement providing the stress subsides too.
