I have had my pump now for over 3 years and I must say since having it - 'I have got a life again'.
There is one problem that I keep having though. I travel abroad at least 4 times a year, some short haul flights some long haul (7 hours +). My BG's are always good actually on the flight but around an hour or so after the flight my BG's go absolutely sky high (no pun intended). I do not overeat on the plane and sometimes do not have the inflight meal at all.
Does anyone know if the pressure in the plane would in someway impede with its performance?
Sorry if this sounds like a really stupid question but it happens to me every single time I fly.
Hmmm, I have only flown the once since getting my pump. It was a 5 hour flight. On the way out, I was exactly as you describe...OK on the flight, high an hour after landing. Going home, i was fine both ways...so just put it down to stress.
I fly 3-4 times a week, long and short haul with my pump as cabin crew. I don't find any effect on my levels. However, levels can be increased by stress or anxiety and travelling through airports isn't always stress free! I find my levels drop if I'm lugging heavy cases round! Some peoples levels go up during exercise a liver can give you a dump if it thinks you need it to carry heavy bags.
