I just took a blood glucose reading from finger on right hand ... 3.7 ermmm dont think, so not after the dinner i had , so took again from finger on left hand 4.8 . Can anyone explain this ?
Newly diagnosed in November 2015 so still trying to settle into the new routines in my life.
 
Hello,Gina, were your hands clean and dry...i usually expel a drop of blood then wipe and then test 2 nd drop usually works...there can be a discrepancy of + or minus 2 to 3 mmols, but regular testing usually shows steady consistent results,keep testing and posting,clive

What were you before you ate, and how long afterwards were your low readings? Did you wait half an hour and test again?
 
Ok so i was 6.2 before I ate at 17.51 at 21.21 gave me the 3.7 then tested 21.23 and got 4.8 from other hand ...
admittedly i hadn't washed hands after my dinner ..

Sounds like it was a contaminated hand. It is important to wash and dry them thoroughly. Still, it was a long time after you ate, so good that you had dropped, even if not that low!
 
oooh contaminated will get my bell and start yelling unclean unclean , lol thanks for that Bluetit , all seems good today being a bit more careful
