I was quite shocked to get a spike reading of 10.6 today after eating some small left over sandwiches from a meeting at work. My pre-meal reading was 7.6 what should I do to bring it down? I obviously can't tolerate normal bread but this was a one-off.

If I were in your shoes I would give bread (all types) a wide berth. I would also have eating the sandwich filling and left the bread

I would have eaten only the filling as well maybe would have put it on a big piece of lettuce.

Take a moderate paced walk asap

Thanks. Yes I have noticed recently that anything like bread (apart from the special types of bread like Burgen or Sainsburys Hi-Lo and Lidl protein rolls) give me a big spike. I should have known better but just couldn't resist the 'free' sandwiches on this occasion.

Will choose carefully this evening for my meal.

Carina, to answer your initial question, as you were at work, I'm assuming you couldn't go for a decent stroll, so in your shoes, I'd have had plenty of water to help move things through.
