Black pudding

Hi can anyone tell me how many carbs is in black pudding I have tried to find out but can't get a straight answer thanks in advance

Thats going to be completely dependent on how much filler is included with the blood.
Seems to be about 12-20g of carbs per 100g depending on who makes it.
If it's from your local butcher then it could be anybodies guess .. maybe ask them what the ingredients are.

If you can't find out the carb content of butchers pudding the only way to know how it affects you is to test with your glucometer. Good luck.

@Tessmc just checked my pack of The Bury Black Pudding company black pudding slices from Asda and it says 18.6 carbs
Per 100 grams, the pack contains 4 slices with 230g per pack. Hope that's helpful but people are right the only way for you to workout how it affects you is to try and test BG before and 2 hour after eating, we would all be different. We love it too but we only have 1 slice,we don't have the full pudding! K

Ok for my main meal I had a half a stotti with a 1 foot long pork and leek sausage and 2 half inch thick slices of black pudding after 2hrs 7 mins bloods were checked and we're 7.6 a little bit high for me but once in a blue moon should be OK

The Bury Black Pudding Company do a vegetarian black pudding. Now call me a dunce but isn't black pudding basically flavoured blood? (It's as obtuse as trying to find hedgehog in hedgehog-flavoured crisps)
These veggie beauties may taste great but not necessarily the ticket for LCers or anyone trying to eat healthily. They contain:
Water, Black Beans, Wheat Flour (With added Calcium, Iron, Niacin & Thiamin), Onions, Pearl Barley, Modified Starch, WheatStarch, Oatmeal, Vegetable Fat (Palm, Sunflower), Barley Flour, Spices, Salt, Malted Barley, Mixed Herbs, Yeast Extract, Raising Agent: Ammonium Hydrogen Carbonate.
They have 29.4 g carb (per 100 g I presume).

Woah. I saw those yesterday, @Jo_the_boat and didn't check the label (I didn't buy them because, as you say, black pudding ain't black pudding without the blood, but they do look tasty). Nothing better in a full fry-up, in a small amount though , but unfortunately hog's pudding (white pudding, SW delicacy) has grains and oatmeal so that's orf. Shame, 'cos it's delicious.

I am a mere southerner so I may be wrong but isn't a stottie a type of bread? In which case it was hardly a good test of the black pudding or sausage.

They look good to me.
I picked up veggie Haggis a while go, that was tasty as well.
