I am registered blind and have recently gone on insulin for my type 2 diabetes. Currently district nurses are administering it for me as i live alone. I am on a pen device but i would rather be independent. I have a talking glucometer but they )DN'S) tell me there is no such device for my pen (novomix 30) They have told me i can count the 'clicks' but this doesnt fill me with confidence. Any suggestions? Anyone know of a talking click counter or something else
I am not blind, but I'm very confident counting the clicks on my insulin pen - it saves finding my reading glasses to check the dose. The current Novopens won't let you dial a dose larger that the available insulin, if you are at the end of your cartridge. If anything interrupts me counting the clicks, I just unwind and start again.
