Hi Everyone,

Sorry if this is a daft question. I am used to a higher blood glucose reading as my first reading of the day but usually it drops following breakfast......
This morning even though I have eaten and drunk the same as normal my level has increased.
My overnight reading was higher this morning than has been over the past few weeks at 7.1 - two hours after my usual natural Greek Yogurt and it is now 7.7

I understand it can be raised if you are not well but I feel OK - I do have very itchy eyes this morning and put that down to pollen reaction but is that likely to have pushed up the readings????

Thank you in advance for any insights you might be able to give.

A histamine reaction (which is the type found with hayfever) will most certainly cause some insulin resistance. Take some antihistamines and see if there's an improvement over the next couple of days.

I always find my sugars rise slightly during hayfever season.

Thank you - I am not able to take histamine's as it raises my blood pressure and as that is borderline I have been informed by my doctor not to take it............ so I will have to live with the raised numbers and just monitor it - hopefully it is short term as I have to have my HbA1c done soon.

Ahhh a shame. Yes, I'd keep an eye on it, hopefully those naughty plants will stop trying to reproduce soon!
