Hey all I've just given myself a shot and as I pulled it out I noticed some blood inside my pen floating about. Is this still ok to use or shall I just get a new pen out?

I would personally start a new pen as it will be no longer sterile.

My diabetic nurse and doctor personally told me it is perfectly safe to still use it. It happened when I injected lantus onto an area I injected into recently. From then on I didn't notice any change.

Never had this happen Stu, sometimes get blood on the tip of the needle but not inside the insulin cartridge

as long as you keep the plunger depressed still as you withdraw the pen it shouldn't happen

Insulin stability data does not take into account mixing anything into your insulin. None of us know whether it'll be a problem. You might as well change it.
