Blood pressure...

Not trying to be funny, but to those who say they know their blood pressure is fine, but they just get white coat syndrome at home/at the gp, how do you know it's normal the rest of the time? Is there another way of knowing, without using the machines (or getting a manual check by medical practitioner)?

If I am completely relaxed which takes a long time I have readings in the region 112 - 120/78 pulse resting, hovers around 58 -64 region. As soon as they put the machine on me is 200 plus! Yet with the old fashioned way its my normal readings but they are reluctant to do it old school. I also have a panic disorder and that does not help, heart will pound, room spins and I sort of become detached from it all. Horrid feeling.
