Hi
@Kentucky
I guess by the time you read this, you will have had that meeting with the GP - please let us know how that went.
Could you elaborate on what you are doing to lose that weight? It sounds perfect; about a pound a week is just about spot on.. I only ask because the effect on your body is different if this is due to calory restriction compared to low-carb high-fat.
For example, I dropped about three stone over three years under a very well controlled ~2lb per week rate, and at the end of it was diagnosed with alarmingly high blood sugar. I had been restricting calories, but I was clueless about anything beyond calories in - calories out, and didn't realise that the food I
was eating was not working well for me, despite it being very .. what I would have described as "good", "healthy" and "natural".
There are lots of reasons that could be affecting your BG levels, but if there is time, one thing worth asking for is a C-peptide test - this will determine the state of your pancreas (along the same lines as
@MrsA2 is suggesting) - and whether it's producing insulin normally.
