Blood sugar levels - many lows - Punp 750G

I get many lows, these happen very quickly usually late at night.
I am using Guardian 4 sensor ( which every 7 th one fails) . Is there a pump setting that I should alter to prevent the lows ?

I think you’re referring to the M780g.
If so, it would be a good idea to go to Delivery settings/Basal Pattern Setup and look at adjusting your night time settings.
You might also look at your overall Target setting which if it’s set at 5.5 or 6.1 you could raise it.
Any changes you might make will take a few days for the pump to learn from. I would suggest you try and refer to your medical team as I recall minor adjustments to basal settings can make a big difference.
I know Medtronic will say there’s no need to calibrate the G4’s but I would still do glucometer checks when High or Low, but you’re probably already doing this.

Still getting many lows.

Would increasing the Insulin Sensitivity decrease the amount of insulin the pump delivers ?
 
Was the bolus at 9.45ish a correction bolus, or was it for some carbohydrate intake?
 
Since you're in smartguard there are only 2 things you can change to alter how much insulin you're getting. Active Insulin Time & Carb Ratios. You might find that increasing your Active Insulin Time may help stop your corrections from being so aggressive, from the image above it looks like your correction brought you down to almost low territory although can't be certain as I can't see what was done previously to that. You can increase your Active Insulin Time by 15 minutes and then wait a week to let the Algorithm do its thing and see how it affects you.
 
Ok. It’s just that if you were to make correction boluses in addition to the SmartGuard corrections it may just contribute to your lows.
I must admit that when I’ve rarely reached very high levels I have bolused myself to try and assist SmartGuard, with the inevitable nosedive soon after. So I think it’s best avoided and to let SmartGuard do its work.
 
I increased the Active Insulin time by 30 minutes. If you look at the image it seemsto me that the pump is giving more insulin then nessary ?

If you haven’t already done so, go to SmartGuard/SmartGuard Settings where you can check your overall target.
If it’s set at 5.5 or 6.1 you can raise it to the maximum 6.7mmol/L. That should then guide your pump to reach a higher level with less insulin.
 
Are you making sure to bolus at least 10 minutes before you are eating and are your carb calculations accurate? If you/they are I would also look into checking/altering your carb ratios. Looking at the insulin you gave for what I presume is a meal at 5pm you went quite high afterwards.

With the pump giving you extra to account for not enough with that meal and then another meal soon after you probably have a lot of insulin stacked and it’s ended up just sending you low.

Still have an issue with the BG level hovering between the upper orange line and the green band. This results in my compliance been 50 to 60%. Any suggestions

Hi, my Bolus to eating time is about 15mn to avoid the high Glucose peaks after eating (also depends what you may eat) and I may increase my Bolus to eating time in case my Glucose level is considerably higher as normal.

If I am getting many of over and undershootings over a day it may also be connected to a not well adapted Basal insuline profile.
Example: My need of Basal is changing considerably over a day. It is increasing in the morning for some hours (due to the Dawn effect) and decreasing over night by around 40-60%.
It tooks my quite a some Basal testing to get my profile.
