Hi. I’m on MDI & I sometimes use a meter to check on the Libre (which is occasionally wildly wrong). My current meter (Abbott FreeStyle Neo/Optium) is being discontinued. Contour seems to be the next most accurate. Any feedback from MDI people on whether to go for Contour Next, or Contour Next Blue? It’s accuracy that matters for me.

Hi
I use a caresense dual that reads keytones as well as glucose.
Its hard to judge how accurate it is but i use it regularly in conjunction with my libre and my last hba1c was 39 or 5.7 and my latest predicted hba1c on my libre says 38 or 5.6 so logic suggests its accurate enough for me and i have tight control on my levels.
another vote for caresense dual or a simular metre that can do ketones. GlucoRx HTC was what my mum used. most blood glucose monitors appear to be very simular if self funding would weigh up running costs some metres might be cheaper and have a higher price for the test strips. theres a few threads on costs.
Usually when a metre is discontinued testing strips will be available for a time period afterwards that might be worth looking into if self funding as it may prove to be worth off putting change for a bit (until test strips expiry dates pass)
I use a contour blue plus, it has never been a problem straight forward and easy enough
there again I cannot compare it to any others as its the only one I have used
