I have just been put on insulin and am testing my blood 4 times a day I have a free style light and a one touch Verio When I test with the same sample of blood one say for example 6.2 and the other say 8.6 Which meter is correct and why such a difference I am type 2
I don't have experience with the Freestyle meter, but the OneTouch Verio meters (I've had two) were piece of junk.
However, to answer your question, it's hard to say. No meter is 100% accurate, no two drops of blood have exactly the same amounts of glucose, and anything foreign on your hands can throw off the reading as well.
If I ever encounter two odd readings, I test again (and again and again) until I feel comfortable with the answers.
