If the family were doing McDs then I would have gone along with them and had a burger and thrown away the bun and had a salad with it. Even if you are low carbing, you can still go there if you want to.

When did you test and how long after eating? What did you drink? Lots of different things can effect your numbers

Hello Mrs Gimli Try not to despair too much. It's hard isn't it?

From what you posted and reckoning on what I would have done I can see stuff in there that I couldn't have had without spiking. 3 Ryvita would have been only two. The pear would have been out because it's pretty high in sugar. The only fruit I have is a few berries now and again. Rhubard is pretty fantastic too with some Splenda. I would have avoided the Rye Cob but I do appreciate that it's hard when everyone else is eating Macca's. I don't go there at all so can't really offer advice on what's on offer. I believe they sell salad? Not very exciting I know but at least you would be eating something.

It's all a balancing act and if you can test at home to find out what spikes you, it might be easier to deal with the changes you have to make.
For me, testing my BG a LOT when I first started this was the best thing I could have done. Without it I would have been totally in the dark. Good Luck hon.

the ryvita, the pear, the cob and the liquorish is my guess, sucks dosent it, i would say you could have hd 3 big macs thrown away the buns, ate 6 boiled eggs, half a wiltshire pig and had better numbers, carbs are sugar

always try, rarely succeed your doing great its bloody hard

You should have been able to get salad at McDs http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/ukhome/Food/salads.html their Grilled Chicken Salad only has 7g of carbs, but I do find they have rather a lot of iceberg lettuce.

I tend to have a burger with a side salad. I can't eat wheat so throwing the burger away is my usual habit when eating fast food. For me it is an easier place to eat than a sandwich takeaway.
