Hi I have been diagnosed type 2 diabetes three weeks ago, which was a big shock to me and i am trying to understand my blood sugars count. I would like to ask the question why are my blood sugars are high in the morning (9.4) and low (7.4) before dinner.

I`m still trying to understand diabetes.
I`m taking 2 x metformin 500g with my evening meal and 2.5mg ramipril in the morning.

Hi Allyson and welcome to the forum Your high blood levels in the morning could be caused by dawn phenomenon - see this link:

Your before dinner level - 7.4 is not low. It is better to have it lower than this before a meal. Here is some information that might help you understand more about diabetes as I don't suppose you were told very much on diagnosis. I hope this information helps you and please ask as many questions as you need to as there is always someone here who would like to help.
