The term "big boned" lol repeatedly told this growing up!
Just wondering when I have my hba1c next week with cholesterol etc, should I fast before hand. Will I be okay having coffee with cream and almond milk or should I just steer clear or have black coffee. I am also being tested for iron levels and coeliac to try and find out why I am tired all the time. Thanks xx

Hi Lainie71,

I also find it helpful if I take water from midnight the night before my tests, that way I know I'm getting a clean test, my old DN used to tell me to drink as much water as I wanted before the tests then I could eat and drink whatever I wanted after. That late coffee and breakfast tasted sooo good

Hba1c is the average of blood sugar for the past 3 months so fasting beforehand for any length of time won't effect it.

No it won't, but it will affect the cholesterol test, which Laine71 is having at the same time.

And, always going to every test fasted means there is consistancy and it saves worrying about which need what
