I'm not quite sure, but I do know, GTT is a glucose tolerance test. could FBC be FBG or fasting Blood Glucose?
These 2 sets of tests are to diagnose diabetes. The GTT is definitive. You're lucky to be offered it, Many doctors don't bother with it. It takes time to administer.
If there'ws no-one at the surgery who specialises in Diabetes, Ask them to refer you to the hospital diabetes clinic or another practice.
Do you have a diagnosis of Diabetes?
if so I wonder why they would want the GTT. :? The FBG? could be to see how far the diabetes has progressed. again I wonder why if you have a diagnosis.

and yes i have been dx diabetic, 15th may 2008
but must say, got me wondering,
as i was sent for a GGT just a couple of months ago ,
after requesting a c-peptide test, and did ask, why, :?: and was told, just checking, huh :!:

The FBC is a Full Blood Count ,which i had with the other tests i had on mon

Also forgot to add to list, in previos post Haemoglobin AIC :roll:

I have made an app to see the nurse,next wed, who is interested in diabetes,
have,nt been to see her before, so dont know what to expect
 
Either they have cocked up the paperwork or the lab has cocked up the tests and needs to run them again, this can happen.

IMO see the doctor first for the results and an explanation.

Hi Trink,
just catching up, :roll: yes was a ****-up re -GTT, our practice is, now in 3 locations,
they, got there wires crossed so to speak, :x

i still have to go for a repeat FBC plus checking my b12 level , folite and ferritin levels
will have results end of month
 
I told my clinic that they didn't need to test me as two weeks earlier I had had the same tests at hospital. Their reply? We need you to have a blood test for us. Madness ,especially considering how hard it is for me to get to the stupid place.
 
i go for my long range blood test every 3 months but i cant understand why i cant get my range down what should i do ?
