Blood

Definately going to look into the lancet situation as they do seem very thin, always wash my hands before and leave my hands under the hot tap after rinsing the soap for aslong as possible, be my luck if i swing y arms im likely to catch my hand against a wall, door lever or catch.........hmmm that would solve the lack of blood problem!

Both Abbot and Accu-Chek meters come with a lancing device, Accu-Chek's FastClix device is better than Abbots though.
May get in touch with Dr, see if i can get them to prescribe a meter and go from there but have a feeling she would most likely say i don't need one.

All great advice above..
My advice sounds a bit "lovey," but try shaking your hands loosely to the side as if warming up for "improvised acting class.." (Before lancing.)

I'm serious, & it's the only graphic way I can describe it.
@Jaylee, Best way to that, sing the Hippy Hippy shakes while warming up mate.

For goodness sake
I got the hippy hippy shake
I've got to shake
Who the hippy hippy shake

Who I can't keep still
With the hippy hippy shake
I get my fill
With the hippy hippy shake
Ooh my baby
Oh the hippy hippy shake

Thanks will give it a go, nothing to lose, even got to the stage earlier of taking my watch off first incase that was causing a problem!

Best of luck with that mate.

Dehydration will make things worse. Do you drink enough?

Are you hands working men’s hand and tough? Hunt for soft spots

I find my little and ring fingers bleed much easier than other fingers particularly on the edge nearer the thumb. Also pricking before I activate the monitor helps. Sometimes if I just wait 30 seconds it starts to flow better with gentle milking. If I start the meter first I try and rush it and run out of time or “fail” in successful application and waste a test. (Accuchek mobile so not a strip and a bit different)

You obviously havent heard me sing!

Yes dehydration was what was thinking may try a glass of water ten mins or so prior to test and see if that helps, dont think skin is particular tough and have ended up pricking two or three fingers just to get enough blood out of one of them

Maybe a little more a bit earlier too. Apparently most of us are partially dehydrated most of the time. I read a post somewhere today about blood spurting from numerous prick sites when doing pull-ups. Oh if only for either easy bleeding or pull-ups eh?

I can only get guaranteed blood from my little fingers but occasionally the side of my ring finger. The others?......forget it!

Well worked ok this morning lets hope it continues, i regularly pull me socks up but haven't noticed it making a difference
